Political Turned Personal.

Radically Muse

This space is a place for my opinions and thoughts. There are pressures within writing privately and pressures within writing publicly. I know what I mean, but do you? This probably should have been my first release, my debut, but I don’t think it would have formulated as naturally as it is now. My writing is not perfect, in academic standards, in any way what so ever and that is not to my own fault, but the fault of the unequal American education system. Though this might read as a cop out or a bitched attempt at finding a scapegoat for my own flaws, this is just me purely highlighting the reason for my mission statement.

My mission, for 5+ years now, is to change the education system in America. Why? I believe the education system in America to be the number one factor that is hurting the black community in this country, and in some ways education is the intersectional crossroad to a lot of other issues. (This is not limited to solely black people). To start anywhere, in my opinion, is to start here.

Underfunded schooling and varied curriculums throughout the nation, present students with either a foot up or feet behind the baseline for opportunities.

Every student prepared for success is a every student more likely to obtain success.

Stories about subway scholars, students in New York City homeless and getting into Ivy league colleges by single handedly pushing themselves through high school, should not exist. Every child should be well fed, cared for, and given the resources necessary to succeed, no child should have to do anything but be a child.

This is a righteous venture, but a personal one.
